Participating in the LuxTeach Exchange Program strengthens mutual understanding between Luxembourg and the international teaching community, enriches educators’ professional skills and classroom methodologies, and creates opportunities for meaningful cross-cultural engagement within Luxembourg’s schools and communities.
LuxTeach Exchange is the official platform connecting qualified international teachers with host schools across Luxembourg for professional and cultural exchange.
For Teachers
Teachers may work in a Luxembourg school for an initial period of up to 3 years, with the possibility of a 1–2 year extension depending on placement and performance. At the end of the program, participants are encouraged to return to their home country to share the skills, knowledge, and cultural experiences gained through their exchange in Luxembourg.
For Schools
LuxTeach Exchange has a strong international network and a dedicated team committed to connecting schools in Luxembourg with highly qualified teachers from around the world, bringing cultural exchange and fresh perspectives into every classroom.
How It Works
- Complete the online application form to provide details about your teaching experience, educational background, country of residence, and any accompanying family members.IMPORTANT: LuxTeach Exchange does not work with foreign or domestic third parties or agents to accept participants in the program. All applicants must apply directly through LuxTeach Exchange.
- We carefully review every qualified application. If your application passes the first stage, you will be asked to provide additional supporting documents in Step Two to complete your file and verify your eligibility.
- We then share your profile with schools in Luxembourg that are interested in hosting international teachers. If a school expresses interest, you will be notified and guided through the placement process.
- After you accept a job offer, we will provide the documents you need to apply for your visa and work permit in Luxembourg.
- Once your visa is approved, you will receive the LuxTeach Participant Guide, which explains everything you need to know and prepare before departure. We will also assist with travel planning and airport pick-up upon arrival.
- When you arrive in Luxembourg, we will support you with important steps such as registering for your residence permit, arranging temporary housing, and meeting your host school’s coordinator.
